Bavarian Splitboarding - The Beer is the Reward

The last two weeks of summer-like weather had us all believing that winter had gone, spring had been skipped this year and summer had arrived. The ski resorts surrounding Pally'Hi HQ had closed their lifts weeks ago and winter sports were confined to the Tirol's glacier resorts. At least that was the case until two days ago when the weather switched and winter returned to Bavaria with bone chilling temperatures and huge snowfalls.

Eager to make the most of the fresh snow and the long evenings, a crack team of splitboarders including Pally'Hi's Johannes Ritter and Peter bauer, and local shredder Markus Ziegleder, headed up to Spitzingsee resort after work to skin to the peak of the Rosskopf and poach some fresh turns on the way down. With 50cm of snow at the car park and more than a meter up top, the snow was fluffy and bottomless. The crew made it to the peak by 7pm and then shrieked and hollered their way to the car park. Awaiting them, three fresh Bavarian brews.
